The Homestay Program is a project created by the AIMS Meeting, which aims to provide a cheaper and different way to accommodate international students that which to take part in this conference. It consists of an agreement between a student from the Faculty of Medicine (University of Lisbon) and a foreign student, both of which must be willing to take part in the program. The Portuguese student must agree to receive a foreign student in his home during the days in which the congress takes place, which includes five nights – from Wednesday to Monday.
The program’s objectives are to provide both students with the opportunity to experience an academic and social reality different from their own, as well as to provide low-cost housing for the international students.
If an international students does indeed take accommodation through the Homestay Program, this will have the cost of 40€ to be payed to his host!
