10th AIMS Meeting’s Scientific Competition Winner
João Nobre (FMUL)

João Nobre was the winner of the Scientific Competition by MSD of the 10th AIMS Meeting and was awarded a one-week internship at Gustave Roussy, an European leading Institute on Oncology located in Paris. Gustave Roussy’s Institute allowed João to discover and contribute to some of the most recent revolutionizing scientific developments that have been opening the paths for immunotherapy in cancer.

“I’m very thankful for this experience which allowed me to get to know the realities of working in an European renowned Laboratory such as Gustave Roussy in the beautiful city of Paris and realize that our curricula prepares us well to understand the cutting-edge problems in Medicine and work in the Laboratory to try and solve them even in such an advanced and international laboratory. I was incredibly well received and spent a day with each of the lab teams and got to know their leading work regarding the relationship between the gut microbiome and the response to immunotherapy in cancer patients. I sincerely thank both the Organizing Committee of the 10th AIMS Meeting and MSD for this amazing experience.”
